Visiting the Mingan Island Research Station Interpretation Center is diving into the heart of marine mammal conservation efforts. Founded in 1979, the museum is the first to conduct long-term research on cetaceans in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The atmosphere is both educational and inspiring, fostering awareness of the preservation of threatened marine species.
Nearby, explore the natural beauty of the Côte-Nord, with its stunning coastal landscapes and hiking opportunities. Be sure to visit other local attractions, such as national parks and picturesque villages in the area.
The Interpretation Center is easily accessible by car from major cities in the Côte-Nord. Parking is available on-site, and public transport may be limited, so it is advisable to plan your visit in advance.
The best time to visit is during the summer when activities are in full swing. Families and groups are welcome, and reservations may be recommended for workshops.
It is advisable to book in advance for workshops and guided tours. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and appropriate clothing is recommended for outdoor activities.
