The Kamouraska Art Center showcases and promotes contemporary art and its various fields of expression. Our activities primarily revolve around five types of interventions: temporary exhibitions – both indoors and outdoors –, educating young audiences about art, the ARCHIPEL festival, an art auction, and occasional activities outside of the regular programming.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an admission fee to visit the exhibitions?
Visiting our exhibitions is free. Our team works hard to gather donations and sponsorships to ensure that everyone can access our exhibition programming at no cost.
What activities are offered at the Kamouraska Art Centre during the summer season?
During the summer, the Centre d'art hosts exhibitions of contemporary art, in addition to producing the ARCHIPEL festival and offering various occasional activities.
Are there guided tours available?
The Art Centre is open for you to explore at your own pace and according to your interests. However, a cultural mediation team is always on hand to welcome you and assist you during your visit to the exhibitions, if you wish.
How much time should I plan to visit the Centre d’art?
You can expect to spend about an hour exploring all the exhibits and the bookstore and shop area.
Can I bring my children to the Centre d’art?
Oh yes, young audiences are always welcome at the Centre d’art, even the little ones! The exhibitions presented are accessible to all audiences, and our cultural mediation team will be happy to adapt the explanations for your little visitors. By the way, we love hearing children laugh and express themselves, so there’s no need to ask them to be quiet. Far from it! We enjoy having life in our walls. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Are animals allowed?
Animals are not allowed at the Centre d’art, except for service or support dogs.
Is the Centre d'art accessible to people with reduced mobility?
The Art Center is located in a heritage building that presents numerous architectural constraints. At the moment, we do not have exterior access ramps for visitors with reduced mobility (but this is part of our medium-term plans!). A staircase with about ten steps must be climbed to access the first floor of the Art Center, where the main exhibition halls and the bookstore-gift shop are located. It is possible to enter the Art Center through the emergency exit at the back of the building, where you need to climb a staircase of 4 steps. The exhibition halls on the second floor are accessible only by a landing staircase.
