A Family Business for Three Generations

The story of Vergers Denis Charbonneau begins with Jean-Marc Charbonneau, who planted apple trees in the 1950s on the southwest slope of the mountain. Denis Charbonneau then transformed the apples into ciders and founded the cider house, which has been in operation since 1981. Today, Mélanie and Alexandre, from the third generation, have added the café-bistro and the shop.

Apple and Berry Picking

From June to October, the orchards offer several picking seasons: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pears, plums, and then pumpkins in October. The apple season runs from mid-August to the end of October, with more than 15 varieties of apples available throughout the weeks (McIntosh, Gala, Cortland, Empire…).

  • Bags: Apples, pears, and plums are picked in prepaid bags provided at the entrance; berries are weighed at the exit.

The cider house produces eight ciders from its own apples: strong cider, Petit Saint-Grégoire, Le Rosé, Cuvée du Frère André, ice ciders, Alice, and Flasque du Kastor. There are also non-alcoholic musts. Tastings are available on weekends in season, or year-round by reservation.

Creperie and Café-Bistro

The creperie serves savory and sweet Breton crepes in a rustic setting, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturdays and Sundays year-round and every day during apple season. Reservations are recommended. The café-bistro also offers meals on-site.

Local Products Shop

Open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., the shop offers ciders, apple butters, pies, pâtés, maple products, apple fritters, and gift baskets.
