Franc-parler (1992)
Après avoir rompu avec son ami Steve, Shirlee quitte sa petite ville de province avec quelques dollars en poche pour aller vivre à Chicago. Là, elle rencontre Jack, un reporter qui croit mal à propos qu'elle veut se suicider, alors qu'elle se cherche un emploi. A la suite d'un malentendu, elle est engagée comme animatrice d'une émission de ligne ouverte à la radio. A la recherche d'un scoop, Jack enquête sur les origines de cette prétendue docteur Shirlee qui n'a vraiment pas l'air d'avoir passé beaucoup d'années sur des bancs d'université. Le directeur de production de la radio fait tout ce qui est en son pouvoir pour cacher les origines modestes de cette docteur des coeurs. Il ne veut pas voir les cotes d'écoute baisser.
