The Glissades Gamelin transform place Émilie-Gamelin, in the heart of the Quartier Latin, into a free urban sliding station each winter. Organized by the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles, this activity offers the joys of sledding and snow in the city, for the whole family.
Glissades Gamelin 2027: Dates to be confirmed
The dates for the next season have not yet been announced. The 3rd edition, in 2026, took place from January 16 to March 8, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays:
- Fridays: 4 PM to 9 PM;
- Saturdays: 10 AM to 9 PM;
- Sundays: 10 AM to 6 PM.
During the school break, the station was also open on weekdays. Keep an eye on the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles website and social media for the opening date and season programming, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Three Slopes at Glissades Gamelin
The Glissades Gamelin site features three slopes and six downhill tracks:
- La Fomo: a refrigerated slope 5 meters high, with four sliding tracks;
- La Mollo: a gentle descent, ideal for little ones;
- La Yolo: descents for thrill-seekers.
You can slide down on a sled, a beginner snowboard (in collaboration with the Association des stations de ski du Québec), a snowskate, or a snow scooter.
Free Access and Equipment Loans
Access to the slides is free, as is the loan of equipment (sled, scooter, board) with a helmet, in limited quantities. These free loans make it easy to try a new winter sport. You can also bring your own equipment if it complies with the site's guidelines.
Heated Chalet and Café
The atmosphere is family-friendly and festive. After sliding, the heated chalet L'Après-glisse offers a place to warm up: lockers, board games, and music. Café Tranquille serves hot drinks and snacks. In 2026, a free shuttle also connected the site to the Esplanade Tranquille skating rink on weekends.
