The Festival celtique de Québec (FCQ) is presented as the largest Francophone Celtic festival in North America. This end-of-summer event at the Domaine de Maizerets, in Limoilou, brings together sports, music, gourmet delights, and culture.
No Edition in 2026: Return in September 2027
The Festival celtique de Québec is taking a transition year in 2026 to strengthen its foundations. Its return is planned for September 2027 for a 21st edition that will coincide with the 180th anniversary of the great wave of Irish immigration to Québec. Dates are yet to be announced: stay tuned.
Sports, Music, and Gastronomy at Domaine de Maizerets
The 20th edition, from September 5 to 7, 2025, featured:
- Highland Games where international-caliber athletes competed for the championship title, and workshops for amateurs;
- Celtic and traditional music, under the tent and on the main stage, with Irish dancing;
- a Celtic market, food trucks, and a clan genealogy tent;
- bagpipes, a Viking camp, and conferences.
Entry was free for everyone; some activities were paid. A great family outing.
Humble Beginnings
Born in 2005 on the Chaussée des Écossais, with the support of the Morrin Centre, the festival became an independent organization in 2011. Its mission: to celebrate the heritage and legacy of the Celtic communities (Scotland, Ireland, Brittany) in Québec.
